MAC / CIO: Speed Mentoring event

We expect to have 9 mentors and 9 tables.  Mentors will rotate among the tables every 20 minutes.   Please come with your questions!

Our Mentors:

Mark Dronzek

Mark Dronzek is a CIO, Strategist, Thought Leader, Data Advocate and Talent Amplifier. He is an Interim CIO for multiple sectors and midsize-to-large clients: works with executives on strategy, leadership, digital transformation, operational scalability, roadmap and mentoring. He is also a Board Member and Conference Speaker and Moderator.

Nick Otto Nick Otto serves as the CIO for Kimley-Horn, focused on IT Strategy & Leadership, Service Delivery, Application Development & Support, Information Security, and day-to-day IT Operations. Nick serves on the board of directors for the Triangle Technology Executives Council. Prior to joining Kimley-Horn, held senior leadership positions at SAS with responsibility for Global Hosting & Cloud Services, Information Security, and IT Audit & Compliance groups; Red Hat in both the IT Infrastructure and IT Enterprise Systems divisions and Circuit City Stores overseeing IT Infrastructure, Data Centers, Networking and Store Technology groups. Nick’s IT journey started in the grocery IT sector supporting UNIX systems, POS terminals, and networks. Along the way working at a tech startup, consulting for the Virginia Dept of Transportation, and assisting several non-profits in making technology decisions. Nick is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University.
Ken Russell

Dr. Ken Russell is an award-winning technologist, trusted digital transformation leader, and innovation amplifier. He is an author, speaker, and board member known for helping organizations define and pursue their digital transformation journeys with guiding experience, connections, conversations, and collaborations.  

Senior Roles have included:
• Chief Information & Innovation Officer, New College Institute
• Chief Information Officer, Murdock Research Institute
• Executive roles at Cisco, Bank of America, Duke Energy
• Private Equity Advisor/Practitioner 

Rich Otteson

Rich Otteson is the Chief Technology Officer for United Bank. His career includes eight years in the Air Force, seven years in various senior and executive consulting roles and many years in financial services, primarily banking and insurance. Outside work, Rich enjoys golf (building clubs and playing), woodworking and restoring classic cars.

 Sheri Yerk-Zwickl Sherri Yerk-Zwickl is the Vice President for IT and inaugural CIO at Campbell University. Ms. Yerk-Zwickl has served in higher education for over 35 years in various technology-related roles. Currently, as a member of the university executive leadership team, she oversees information security, academic and enterprise technology, client support services, infrastructure and operations, and the strategic direction of an institution dedicated to helping prepare students for lives of purpose and meaning.
Padmaja Adusumilli

Padmaja Adusumilli is a forward-thinking technology executive with a proven track record of leading complex digital transformations and shaping high-performing, resilient organizations. With deep expertise across sectors including education, software, life sciences, telecommunications and public services, she brings a strategic, future-focused lens to every challenge she tackles. A natural leader and trusted partner to business, Padmaja combines technical and business acumen with her inclusive leadership style to address complex enterprise challenges. She is known for her commitment to coaching and mentoring emerging leaders across organizations.

Outside the office, Padmaja recharges through travel and gardening–two things that keep her curious, grounded, and inspired. Whether she's coaching a team or cultivating a new corner of her garden, Padmaja brings thoughtfulness, energy, and a drive to grow.

Jon Meyer

Jon Meyer is the Chief Technology Officer for CAPTRUST, an independent registered investment advisor firm headquartered in Raleigh, NC. Jon leads the firm’s Information Technology group, which includes teams dedicated to application development, server and workstation infrastructure, network, and information security. He ensures effective and secure technology operations, manages the development and support of proprietary applications, and implements strategies that position the firm for sustained and scalable growth. Jon led CAPTRUST’s transition to a “cloud-forward” architecture leveraging the public cloud to modernize proprietary solutions using serverless constructs. Jon is a hands-on technology leader focused on digital transformation in the financial services industry. He leads the development of innovative solutions in mission critical environments by leveraging leading technologies and developing high performance teams. Jon has a proven ability to build and convey a common vision and gain alignment in complex organizations.

Prior to joining CAPTRUST, Jon managed the technology consulting practice for Greenway Solutions and led sizable Application Development departments for both First Citizens Bank and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of North Carolina. Jon began his career with Accenture where he was a senior manager focused on complex systems integration efforts for healthcare clients and SAP implementations for manufacturers.

Ryan Schwiebert

Ryan Schwiebert is the Vice President of Information Technology Services and CIO at Wake Technical Community College.  He has morethan 25 years of experience in technology leadership in higher education spanning multiple institutions including WesternCarolina University, Southwestern CommunityCollege, and Wake Technical Community College. During his career, he has served many different information technology roles including: instructor, web developer, database administrator, systems administrator, project manager, applications manager, information services director, and CIO.

He is passionate about technology and believes it is an essential tool for digital transformation in higher education. His overreaching goal is to make access to that technology as easy as possible for our students, faculty, staff, and community.
