AITP-RTP Meeting – How to Succeed in Driving Technology Change for Your Organization

As the rate of technology change accelerates and technology becomes increasingly important to all business, IT organization must become expert change agents. This presentation will provide specific steps IT leaders can take to increase their impact and effectiveness in driving technology change in their organizations. We’ll discuss essential behaviors, roles, and approaches needed to lead change. We’ll also review case studies to demonstrate and highlight the essential elements of driving change.

Joe Bastante


Joe Bastante - Chief Technology Officer at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina

Joe’s career focus and goal is to transform organizations through the effective use of technology. At present, he leads his organization in technology investment, strategic platform change, architecture, public and private cloud, and operating infrastructure and services. Joe has initiated many change initiatives such as the cloud strategy, the corporate digital strategy program, the enterprise data platform modernization program, and the nationally awarded AI strategy, which introduced advanced deep learning to improve member health outcomes. Joe’s team is also a nationally recognized and ranked by Forrester in 2022 as the #1 enterprise architecture practice in North America. Joe has put in practice over 25 years of technology leadership and consulting experience in spearheading organization transformation, the last twenty years focusing on health and life sciences. Joe holds an M.S. and B.A. in Computer Science and serves as an advisor for public, private, and academic institutions.
